Tucker Max's face, meet Megan ******'s hand
Megan was discussing ball shaving with a nice man at a tailgate. Good start to this story;) NE ways, Tucker Max was also at the tailgate and started talking shit to Megan (he obviously thought she was a hot girl who would sleep w/ him if acted like an asshole, and he was showing off in front of his buddies). Megan hit him on the arm, and he said that meant Megan wanted to fuck him because if she hit him in the face, then he'd know she was mad. She then dissed his elastic waistband (yes, he was wearing elastic waistband shorts, what is he, 12?), and he said "its so stupid bitch whores like you can suck my dick without any confusion." So she slapped him in the face!!!
Tucker threw his drink at her, Candice threw her drink at Tucker with lightning fast reflexes, then he proceeded to grab Megan by her hair and hit her in the face with his pathetically small hands. With a bruised face, and a bruised ego, he took his shriveled penis back to his buddies.
In Tucker Max's own words, "My name is Tucker Max, and I am an asshole." Oh, and he hits girls.

I'm pretty sure tmfz doesn't know what "binomial distribution" means. Doesn't he claim to be really smart?
"Ryan hasn't been fired. That's a ridiculous rumor from the haters."
Can you actually be fired from a job where you earn zero income?
^^
I doubt either Tando or Holliday draw any pay. They work for penis.
Tucker's an even bigger douche than we all suspected if he actually blames the failure of his movie on the "haterz." It couldn't possibly be that the content of his movie was total dogshit - no, this is entirely the fault of jealous haterz!
Tucker has been spreading lies about himself on the Internet for years in an effort to make himself seem far cooler and wittier than he really is. It was only natural that a group of people would decided that enough was enough and start debunking his lies.
the-numbers.com is the only site I've seen to release the Friday numbers yet. And IHTSBIH is not listed.
I think Tugger has a point, what with this being a revolutionary film. Made-for-tv quality films almost always stay on tv. Sometimes, they go on DVD. But a made-for-tv quality film getting a theatrical release? That's revolutionary. And stupid, but we won't go there.
Both Ryan Holiday and Jon Tando have been rehired by Rudis Media at double their former salaries. However, Erin Tyler is stil MIA and people are concerned.
"However, Erin Tyler is stil MIA and people are concerned."
She's not MIA. She's just too busy traveling all around the country buying up as many IHTSBIH tickets as she can.
Whomever the jackass that is writing fake shit about Tucker and Ebner better shut their fuckin piehole. There both published authors unlike you fuckheads.
There both published authors unlike you fuckheads.
"There" both douchebags.
"Whomever the jackass that is writing fake shit about Tucker and Ebner better shut their fuckin piehole. "
Yeah, or else you'll get called out on his message board and... Oh wait, you don't go to TMMB anymore?
Okay, then please shut up, it hurts their feelings, and they aren't fat girls so they count as people.
Ebner is a professional all right... a professional stooge. What self-respecting "investigative reporter" would stage a fake protest in order to promote a low budget film?
Ebner one fucking step from the Union Rescue Mission.
Went to movies today at the AMC 25 theaters on 42nd street in NYC. Out of morbid curiosity I stuck my head in to see how many people were at the theater for the 2:10 showing which was well into the 2nd act.
4 people. Total.
On the way out I stuck my head in again to see how many people were at the 4:30 show?
7 people. Total.
You know what they say about making it in New York.
Do we gloat, or are we gracious in victory?
NoNicknameGuy: He still has 2 days to beat the Hangover.
Although from the early sounds of things ... he isn't going to get much better.
I'm still waiting to hear Tucker's concession speech. It won't be this weekend, though it'll be entertaining as hell to watch him react under duress.
Props to whoever posted the numbers on Tucker's message board. Hahaha.
@3:19 PM
This is just the calm before the storm. TMMB and IMDB are going to explode within the next few hours. I'm bracing myself.
from boxoffice mojo estimates:
1. 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs' | $5,625,000 | -31% | $41,061,000 | 8
2. 'Surrogates' | $5,100,000 | - | $5,100,000 | 1
3. 'Fame' | $3,550,000 | - | $3,550,000 | 1
4. 'The Informant' | $2,045,000 | -44% | $16,122,000 | 8
5. 'Pandorum' | $1,575,000 | - | $1,575,000 | 1
6. 'Love Happens' | $1,440,000 | -46% | $11,841,000 | 8
7. 'I Can Do Bad All By Myself' | $1,400,000 | -54% | $41,193,000 | 15
8. 'Jennifer's Body' | $1,070,000 | -62% | $9,876,000 | 8
9. '9' | $800,000 | -50% | $25,069,000 | 17
10. 'Inglourious Basterds' | $770,000 | -35% | $112,508,000 | 36
11. 'All About Steve' | $725,000 | -36% | $28,379,000 | 22
Limited Openings:
- 'I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell' | $145,000 | 115 theaters
- 'Coco Before Chanel' | $96,000 | 39 theaters
- 'Capitalism: A Love Story' | $62,000 | 4 theaters
- 'Paranormal Activity' | $34,000 | 12 theaters
- 'The Boys Are Back' | $13,000 | 6 theaters
---
So that's $1260 per screen, not enough to cover the cost of the print.
How will Tucker spin this?
9/26/2009 3:25 PM: Yes. Look up about 5 posts. You're a little late to the game.
"Lesson to be learned? Tucker, Nils and Sean will be a very rich men this time next year. Now ask yourself this simple question. What will YOU be this time next year."
Psssssssssst.
My big fat greek wedding was a PG movie. Not an R comedy. And it also scored 75% not 24%. And it appealed to a very wide audience. Not 18-24 year old frat boys.
It's over. Get over it.
YoMama who posted the Box Office result has already had his rep reduced to zero. Sore losers.
It's at 120 screens, not 115.
Now Tucker has a predicament.
He said that the guy from BoxOfficeMojo was the most objective reviewer. (Remember, he was the first "real" review.) Will he go ahead an concede that these numbers are legit? Or will he say that BoxOfficeMojo sucks and is highly inaccurate, by a couple hundred thousand?
1260.
BoxOfficeMojo has stats at 115. That is what we'll use. Regardless, it's not good.
"Box Office Mojo:
'I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell' | $145,000 | 115 theaters
going to delete this post too?"
ahahahahahhahaha
He had posted a little earlier about something else and they deleted it.
http://www.boxofficemojo.com/schedule/
It's been listed as 120 for a long time. Don't see why that would change.
Plus the actual website hasn't posted their data for the weekend.
I expect a large drop off next week. 3-4 is ok, but he's not getting to expand wide in 3 weeks once it's earning 1k per theater.
"I expect a large drop off next week. 3-4 is ok, but he's not getting to expand wide in 3 weeks once it's earning 1k per theater."
It only earned $1260 per theater Friday. They haven't posted it on their site because they are/were having technical difficulties. facebook.com/boxofficemojo has the results.
"I agree, even the IMDB rating is right around a 5, and when you look at the individual breakdown, it's a bunch of 10's and a bunch of 1's. This really is a polarizing movie, as shown by even critics loving it while others hated it."
I love the fanboys. "It's polarizing!" um....no.
7 to 22. 7 critics liked it, 22 hated it. That's not polarizing, that's a landslide against.
It's funny to watch them make up excuses about the reviews.
I'd like to apologize and admit I was wrong.
I predicted an opening weekend of $225-250,000. After Fridays's numbers, it's clear that I was wrong. Will Tugger and his fanbois admit they were wrong with their $14 million and $25 million predictions?
WHO IS READY TO DANCE ON SOME GRAVES! YEAH!
I think if Tucker doesn't make at least $200,000-$250,000 today, he'll be fucked. Sunday isn't going to get him a lot of sells with NFL taking up most of the day/night and people generally not going out on a Sunday except for groceries, etc.
Does Karma exist?
If so does Tucker deserve this?
I really think $435,000 is going to be Tucker's best-case scenario. That would give him a theater average of $3782. His investors will be fucking stupid if they expand on that. It covers each theater's print costs by $782. And that's BEFORE the theater and freestyle gets their cut.
YoMama:
"Box Office Mojo:
'I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell' | $145,000 | 115 theaters
going to delete this post too?"
Sorry, didn't see 3:41.
I don't believe karma exists, but stupidity does. Who the hell threw in an additional $6M for P&A? Didn't they read Biscuits?
Sad. I was looking forward to Tucker 'Private Jet' Max.
Imagine the Hollywood news we would have seen.
'Brody Jenner collapses on Tucker Max's jet while enroute to Vegas'
'Hollywood Starlet claims she was raped at Tucker Max mansion'
'Paris Hilton and Tucker Max call off engagement'
Now it's all over.
Geigs: Drowning his sorrows in booze or hookers right now?
Hey Nils, how does the $2,000,000 Fox Searchlight check feel right about now?
Here is the weird reality of Tucker Max. He hired fake protestors for the Hollywood premiere. But in Tucker's mind there really were protestors at the Hollywood premiere. He equates protestors with fame and importance. He has said so in half a dozen interviews. Even went so far as to call himself a 'rockstar' because of the protestors. I guess that includes the fake ones he hired to protest in Hollywood.
"Ebner is a professional all right... a professional stooge. What self-respecting "investigative reporter" would stage a fake protest in order to promote a low budget film?"
I don't think it was fake. I went to the after party where Mark Ebner wore his sandwich board into the bar and grazed the buffet with it on. Tucker's minions were not laughing. I'm pretty sure Ebner is actually a fan of this site and was mocking Tucker at his own event.
IMDB is brutal:
"It literally cost them 345K to buy the prints for the 115 screens this is on. It may do the same numbers tonight as Friday but will sink Sunday. It might make 345K for the weekend if lucky. And then its done, nobody in their right minds will throw more money into this. Their budget alone for the film was $6m.
This guy is done, wave goodbye. He has already alienated anyone who is anyone in Hollywood so his only hope was to make this work his way. If it worked then he could do what he wanted because its an industry that only cares about $$$$. It is now verifiable that he can do neither. He should just park his tour bus in a garage, keep it running, and kill himself. The reality is that the end is here for the and people who all were along for the ride. They attached themselves to the wrong racehorse. All that is left are the memories of treating people like *beep* along the way. Hope that was worth a career."
There's a Chinese proverb that goes something like this: "He's a small dog barking behind a closed door". That analogy fits Tucker, as he'll write a caustic short story about an imaginary "true" event, but in real life he's just a pussy. He had a guerilla marketer's dream: An entire group that he could manipulate into promoting his product. If Tucker was one-half the alpha male he pretends to be, he would have baited the feminists instead of acting conciliatory and defensive (I can almost hear him lisp "I'm a feminist" to reporters). In real life, Tucker is just like Matt Whocry at the end of the film... an insincere, apologetic pussy.
"Who the hell threw in an additional $6M for P&A? Didn't they read Biscuits?"
Well, you saw what biscuits said.
He said they might as well have thrown that money in the grand canyon.
They already had the sunk cost of making it, but the P&A did absolutely nothing.
A 6 million P&A to a 120 screen opening...???
A better plan would have been to do a 3 million P&A buy and paid the print costs with the other 3 million for a wider release.
Thus *maybe* having a shot at generating some interest for future projects, dvd sales, etc. As it is, it looks like this will be washed out of theaters very quickly.
"I could make a very good argument for it making anything from 20 million all the way up to 200 million."
TUCKER MAX, Internet Playboy millionaire
And YoMama got his post deleted. Wow, what pussies.
"(I can almost hear him lisp "I'm a feminist" to reporters)."
More like: "I'm a feminitht. Theriouthly."
The truth is that Tucker is just trying to help people be the people they want to be. Oh, and this:
Yeah…this guy is fucking cool. THIS is the type of person that deserves to sit next to me. I decide to tell him Embassy Suites part of The Austin Road Trip Story, and he loves it. He comes back with this one about his exploits with the US Border Patrol:
Agent Jones “I thought I was bad ass until I hung out with those guys. They are unbelievable. One time I was out with them right at to the border. There is a big fence with concertina wire and what not all along this stretch, but the Coyotes had cut a hole in it—”
I interrupted him.
Tucker “What is a Coyote?”
Agent Jones “They are the guys who smuggle illegals back and forth over the border. Anyway, the Coyote was smuggling about a hundred Tonks through the hole, and—”
I interrupted him again.
Tucker “What is a Tonk?”
Agent Jones “Oh—that’s what Border Patrol calls illegal immigrants who have made it into the US. They can’t call them ‘wetbacks’ or ‘spicks’ because obviously those are racially charged names, and ‘Mexican’ isn’t accurate since a lot of illegals are not from Mexico, so they say ‘Tonk.’ They call them that because it’s the sound made when you hit them on the head with a Mag-Lite.”
Tucker “HOE-LEE-SHIT.”
Agent Jones “I told you those guys were nuts. Anyway, so there we are, four trucks on this hill like 200 yards from the hole in the fence. We are totally blacked out, wearing night vision goggles and we can clearly see the Coyote hustling about a hundred Tonks through the fence. The Border Patrol guys wait until all of them are through the hole and about 50 yards into our side, when all four trucks simultaneously turn on all their spot lights and sirens. Of course, the illegals shit themselves and bust ass back to the border…and in the darkness, they all run right into the concertina wire. It was a fucking mess. Some of them did not make it.”
Tucker “You have to be kidding me.”
Agent Jones “Nope. You think our force continuum is loose? These guys shoot anything they want. You should see their situation reports for deaths. They’ll take out guys with rifles at 100 yards and write in the report, ‘Subject was threatening agent with a rock.’ It’s a joke.”
I get off the plane and part ways with Agent Jones, who is officially in my Awesome Guy Hall of Fame. Riding a great buzz, basking in genius slick maneuver that got me into first class, and having just heard some hilarious stories, I head to the gate for my Newark to Nantucket connection in a great fucking mood."
It's amazing that the guy who wrote those words above would ever have to face failure.
"I could make a very good argument for it making anything from 20 million all the way up to 200 million."
TUCKER MAX, Internet Playboy millionaire
I remember when he said that. My spider sense was tingling "delusional, delusional"
This won't get close to 20 million BO.
Some of Tucker's fans: http://twitpic.com/ja75e
BTW: Ebner, since I know you read this. YOU OWE ME A FUCKING DRINK, YOU PLAGERIZING SON OF A BITCH!!!!!
Just kidding of course, I just figured a famous writer from Rudius could come up with his own stuff instead of cribbing from a teacher.
What is that on the left?
It's a fat napoleon dynamite mixed with one of the 70s charlies angels apparently.
Look at that hair. Is that a dude? Can't be.
Is anyone bombarding Tugger on Twitter with tweats about how much his movie sucks?
I think I predicted under a million. I don't remember. I can't be bothered to search back through the spam to see.
He'th not even the cooletht one of hith friendth.
Things are awfully quiet on RMMB.
That's because they're waiting for tonight's results. Don't you understand the "revolution"? WOM from Friday = sold out theaters on Saturday. That's what Ryan Holiday economics taught me.
That's the beauty of the Mojo numbers. Tucker doesn't want to comment, hoping that the numbers will look better tomorrow. In the meantime, nobody wants to comment on the 3000 guerilla in the room, fearing Tucker's wrath:
"Fuck you, banned!!!"
Time to launch Business Plan B, Tucker: Have everyone purchase a "Why so Syria" teeshirt, and purchase a jet with the commission.
Here's a question... if the numbers for saturday aren't A LOT better than friday's... doesn't that mean... that things are REALLY REALLY fucked for Tucker Max & co?
*FUCKED*??
When is Otto officially over? Will someone keep track of the bankruptcy filings over the next several months?
Gawker should really take that bet tonight with a opening weekend bet of 1/2 million.
Hey tuckaroos, get your ass-pussies ready!
Tucker is going to get a chance to prove that he can do "lots of other things, write lots more best sellers, etc"
Hey Tucker, how's Assholes Finish First coming along? Good thing you have that to fall back in case the movie does poorly, eh?
Tucker Max has officially been added to my dead pool. I would seriously love to be the operator on the suicide hotline when that call comes in.
Assholes Finish First: Just Not In The Box Office
I'm curious whether Assholes Finish First is still a project. Tucker mentioned in a recent interview about the book being released in February. That's not what Amazon says, however. There's no longer a date attached to the publication.
I'm sure his book will sell just fine. Did you see those assholes in this picture?
They'd buy his used toilet paper.
http://twitpic.com/ja75e
Assholes finish first will sell plenty.
where can we really get an accurate view of the box office take for this shitpile?
RMMB is dormant, mods must have to be working overtime (unpaid, of course. Unless rep points count as currency)
What if Tucker's film pulls 300-400K saturday night via WOM? That's save the expansion right?
yEAH, most college kids like to spend 10 bucks and go to the movies on saturday nights.
You know how there was this revolutionary marketed movie that was coming out on September 25th that TUcker spoke about. Well here it is:
http://www.paranormalmovie.com/trailer.html?gclid=CMeKvMnfkJ0CFR9N5QodVjHR7w
I sincerely want to see this movie. Even if it looks sort of cheaply done, it's marketed so audiences will want to see it. It generally looks kind of scary, and while I'm not a huge fan of the horror genre, it still looks better than most horror films out there.
Compare that against the abortion that was his film tour. In this tour he insulted audience members, threatened lawsuits, called himself "the real feminist" or whatever, made racist and sexist jokes in public forums.
It was like a "what's what" of how NOT TO market a film. The "sell outs" during the tour just meant that there was that many LESS people who were going to see the film when it came to actually counting box office receipts when it mattered.
^I saw Paranormal Activity yesterday. I thought it was damn good. I don't get scared by movies, and I'm over this one, but it stuck with me longer than other horror movies. Very original, and just the way they scare you is inherently terrifying. Tough to describe without giving anything away.
If it's playing in your area, I definitely recommend it. Audience reactions alone are worth the price of the ticket- I saw everyone from young girls to middle-aged men running in and out of the theater.
All right, which one of you just registered as "435k weekend"?
Before your comment gets deleted:
"Limited Openings:
- 'I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell' | $145,000 | 115 theaters
- 'Coco Before Chanel' | $96,000 | 39 theaters
- 'Capitalism: A Love Story' | $62,000 | 4 theaters
- 'Paranormal Activity' | $34,000 | 12 theaters
- 'The Boys Are Back' | $13,000 | 6 theaters
I think it's key to note that COCO BEFORE CHANEL did 2/3rds the business IHTSBIH did with about 33% of the theaters."
Also, Ebner, if you really do read this site and trolled Tucker's party, sorry I said you suck earlier. Pretty funny.
I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if 115 American movie theatres were suddenly silent.
165K on Saturday.
nah it'll be closer to 200k
can someone on this site offer any true proof as to the movie's earnings?
didn't think so.
/b/
ahhh, I love the smell of failure in the morning.
Holy Shit the movie earned 814,000 on Friday!
Holy Shit the movie earned 814,000 on Friday!
lalalallalala
I love the smell of Tuckerfail in the morning.
Smells like ...
Victory.
RMMB:
"I bought $100 worth of tickets, got 11 people to go see it, and got no bad reactions whatsoever. Everyone called it a "good" movie with no obvious or glaring weak points. All of these people had never heard of Tucker in any way."
This is beyond parody.
wtf, saturday's number just came in. 482,000
Was it a typo or something?
"wtf, saturday's number just came in. 482,000
Was it a typo or something?"
Where did you see 482,000?
These must be the interdimensional results I've previously made reference to...
IHTSBIH made ~ $140K on 120 screens this friday, and is tucker-max-failing! Hahahaha
RT has it scored at a ~25% average, LOL
Where is your douche god now fanbois?
Probably sucking on the tail pipe of his tour bus with the engine running, trying to end it all if he’s got any sense.
wtf, saturday's number just came in. 482,000
Hasn't been posted anywhere yet. Nor would it be. Results don't come in till the afternoon for Friday on Saturday, and likewise for Saturday on Sunday.
"can someone on this site offer any true proof as to the movie's earnings?"

"What if Tucker's film pulls 300-400K saturday night via WOM? That's save the expansion right?"
Keep dreaming...
Wow...
There are all of maybe 4 or 5 new posts on RMMB in the movie section this weekend.
Suckage.
Well... we were told that the movie was good..
And like the suckers you are, you believed it. Because Tucker's never lied about anything before.
And which one of you registered as "25millionopening"? Hilarious. Your two comments, since you're about to get FYB'd:
#1: "People turning down free IHTSBIH tickets? Color me shocked."
#2: "Also, color me banned."
They should have done a documentary film about Tucker's whole movie making experience. It would be entitled
"Box Office Bomb Millionaire"
"To make me money, it would have to make between 15 and 20 million.
For ME to consider it a success, the number is much higher. I'll disclose that at some other point, much later in the process."
I'm waiting for the time when Tucker says that he got a 60% critics rating on RT. Because if you add the 24% of the T-Meter with the 36% of the top critics, you get 60% of the critics who LOVED IHTSBIH.
He's that intellectually dishonest and he knows at least 33% of his fans would believe it anyhow.
Okay,
Think about his message board for a moment. In the past 48 hours that place has been a virtual cemetery. A few random postings, but nothing like say the IMDB site, this site or even Light and Barry's side.
What does it all mean?
"If there do end up being a lot of comparisons, it will go poorly, but not for us. The Hangover is probably one of the best comedies of the last ten years, but all that means is that comedy has sucked for ten years. The days of being able to pass off dogshit like The Hangover as great comedy end on September 25th. We are going to sweep in out of nowhere and shake up the comedy world. The bar will be raised.
And if you doubt me, that's cool. Stand in line behind all the other the doubters--the ones who said I couldn't be a writer, or my website couldn't be a book, or my book wouldn't be a best seller, or I couldn't write a movie, or I couldn't get that movie made, or I couldn't get the movie distributed, etc, etc, etc. They have been wrong every time in the past, and they will be wrong this time."
http://messageboard.tuckermax.com/showthread.php?p=877180#post877180
I wonder if this guy is actually mocking Tucker.
"I bought $100 worth of tickets, got 11 people to go see it, and got no bad reactions whatsoever. Everyone called it a "good" movie with no obvious or glaring weak points. All of these people had never heard of Tucker in any way.
One interesting thing to me was, I posted on Facebook four times in two days that I had free tickets to anyone wanted them and got 2 "maybe" responses. After that massive failure I went up to people specifically and said "Hey, this movie was like The Hangover but way better, I've got a free ticket, wanna go?" and got a yes from every person I asked. Some people bailed later but everyone who went ended up having a good time.
Anyone else have similar issues? I thought people never said no to something free like a movie ticket."
Specifically...he says "none of them know Tucker" and he also says "this movie is way better than the hangover."
If you had said that to someone who saw The Hangover, they would have laughed in your face. Yes, I'm sure this POS I've never heard of is better than the #1 grossing comedy of all time.
"What does it all mean?"
It means geigs is sitting there with a box of kleenex, banning anyone who dares point out the obvious.
"To make me money, it would have to make between 15 and 20 million.
For ME to consider it a success, the number is much higher. I'll disclose that at some other point, much later in the process."
In a more recent interview that number got bumped to 25-30 million. Because they took out a larger P&A buy than expected. The production cost roughly 6-10 million and he said they'd need 15-20 to break a profit, they took out another 6 million for P&A so the number has gone higher.
Tucker doesn't seem to understand...he may have sold roughly 430k books...but he does not have 430k hardcore fans willing to spend money on a movie, or a dvd.
He has maybe 25k hardcore fans, who might see the movie and dvd.
"Well considering that my book has sold over 300k copies, and has over 45+ consecutive weeks on the best seller list (and I get about a dollar a copy), I think I can afford meat now.
And there is this miraculous thing known as a "producer fee" that is built into the budget of a movie. Nils and I are producers, so we get it. The fee on this movie is much lower than a studio movie, but its still nice."
Post from the ask about the movie thread in April 2008 (post 156). Tucker has sold a shitload of books since then to hit 1M.
Will Priscilla Painton at Simon & Shuster still Publish Assholes Finish First?
the title makes no sense. Assholes might finish first in some silly women's eyes, but they epic fail in reality.
What's up with women these days?
It seems the more they run things, the more they try to force douchebag fart art on everyone:
Former 'Time' Exec. Relieves Venerable Editor Mayhew At Simon & Schuster

Does she think tucker's ads are cute and humorous?

Does she get off on this?

Is Priscilla Painton publishing tucker's next book for the love of lietrature, art, or money?
'Cause it seems that those who work with tucker generally hate and lose literature, art, and money.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Priscilla_Painton
From RMMB: "Saw the movie in Houston tonight at the AMC 30 on Dunvale. There were less than 20 of us in the 10:25pm show."
Hangover here we come!
"Post from the ask about the movie thread in April 2008 (post 156). Tucker has sold a shitload of books since then to hit 1M."
Wrong. Current Bookscan numbers show otherwise.
And he gets 0.77 cents per book if I'm not mistaken. And they put up money to make this film, personal money as well as investor money. The producer credit on a 6 million budget? Nothing. Less than actor pay.
He has sold no where near 1 million books.
So in 3 1/2 years he's made maybe 500k of the book and movie, and maybe earns about 10k peak off the website (which peaked in 2006) traffic is now way down.
Let's see...not enough for any house in LA. Not enough to live in LA really. Hmmmm....yes, F you money indeed.
From RMMB:
"Apart from a few outliers 4k seems to be the upper limit... I count 6 of 128 that break that. With a wide release of 2000 theaters its 8 mil. Not bad for a weekend. Its not mind blowing but considering the PA it doesn't seem too shocking."
Does this idiot not realize that if it was wide released, the theater average would actually be lower? There would be more options, thus more people choosing their closest theater, instead of the only one playing it. So the 20 people on 115 theaters would probably only be 6 people on 2000.
Not. good.
"With a wide release of 2000 theaters its 8 mil"
He also doesn't understand that 3 weeks from now. The per theater average will be much lower even before releasing wide, then the wide release will also make it lower again.
He also doesn't understand that Tucker has to be pay for each theater, takes only 50% of the split, and has to pay for the print.
That's an automatic losing proposition if the film is not making a good per theater amount.
9/27/2009 7:55 AM:
Indeed. However, I think he was just assuming that if it was currently in wide release, with the "predicted" 4k theater average, it would automatically translate to $8 million, without accounting for any type of dilution.
I surely hope this guy doesn't buy stocks if he can't understand dilution.
hha aha hahaah as bad as a tucker fanboy. ahah aah aha haa
Well, one could hardly argue that tucker is a vastly profitable investment. Overall he has so far lost more money than he has made.
And too, I agree with you that women are generally motivated more by greed and numbers than by principle, truth, and justice.

"Feminism is an excellent example of how the Rockefeller mega cartel uses the awesome power of the mass media (i.e. propaganda.) to control society.
In 40 short years, many women have lost touch with their natural loving instincts. Consequently, the family is in disarray, sexual depravity is rampant and birth rates have plummeted."
Here's an offical interview with Aaron Russo--an actual SUCCESSFUL Hollywood producer behind The Rose and Trading Places:
http://www.newswithviews.com/Yates/steven21.htm
"In a recent interview with The New American (June 12, 2006), Aaron Russo, currently of America: Freedom to Fascism fame, reports how he once defended his sympathy with the women’s movement and with equal opportunity to an unnamed member of the Rockefeller clan. Russo describes the chilling response: “He looked at me and said, ‘You know, you’re such an idiot in some ways. We … created the women’s movement, and we promote it. And it’s not about equal opportunity. It’s designed to get both parents out of the home and into the workforce, where they will pay taxes. And then we can decide how the children will be raised and educated.’”"

Schopenhauer's "On Women" is one of those things you're not even supposed to read because it's so barbaric and horrible and icky and hurts women's feelings.
Aristotle's view of women is one of those benighted views from long past that we have surpassed in our enlightened age.
Reading things like that, and a bit of life experience, is enough to get one wondering: did all the great thinkers for centuries have it wrong, and only _now_, in this century, is the truth found? Or is it more likely that _now_ is the aberration, and the normal view as described throughout history and repeatedly agreed on by past great philosophers is the more correct one?
Women today have power because they can push buttons just as well as men. That doesn't change the mentality evolution gave them - _that_ will take a few centuries at least of new selection pressures. Assuming our magnificent Fuhrers don't drive the global economy into the ditch in the meantime.
Hey Tucker, do or post something stupid please, so we can get back on topic here.
Everybody notice the silence from Tucker and Nils? They mentioned how they'll be outside a theater yesterday in Chicago for 5 hours. I'm assuming they didn't get the turn-out they're expecting, so have nothing to write about.
But according to Charlie Hoehn:
"@anulman if by 'epic' you mean 'a 6-hour editing shift on the bus,' then yes, it was."
So it's going to take 6 hours to make the Chicago theater look like it was rocking packed? Gotcha.
Wow. Someone posted box office numbers for Friday on RMMB and it was deleted within two minutes.
Comment by the deleted post: "This message has been deleted by Boozy. Reason: How many times are you fucking donkeys going to post the same thing? We get it."
To be fair, the box office number is still posted in another thread. So it's not like it's being censored.
If the Saturday numbers aren't greater than Friday's, he is fucked. Can't wait to read his response. How can he swing that?
In fairness, though, I believe his Saturday numbers will be higher. Probably around $200,000 or so. Today's numbers will probably fall at around $50,000. He will end up with $395,000 for the weekend. $3434 theater average won't cut it.
That's just my prediction, though.
My weekend prediction. $371,340

"The reason why his web site is a ghost town is because the mods keep deleting every post that has to do with the performance of the movie...which is all anyone wants to talk about"
Yup. And if the movie opened at a $10,000 theater average, Tucker would be posting right there with them.
But since $1260 is actually a poor number with limited screens, Tucker won't talk until the full numbers are out and a prayer of a 6k-7k theater average may be answered. However, he knows that if he doesn't make at least $400,000 for Saturday numbers, that won't happen at all. Unless he starts buying out the tickets. And my guess is that they already bought some yesterday at that theater they were hanging around at.

Anybody else want to chime in with another mod profile?
Nils' wife was apparently one of the financiers.. she cut the first check for the movie. I wonder how that marriage will work out after this.

"A Site about the Divorce Regime, Family Court Corruption,
and Government's War on Fathers"
"The divorce regime is the most totalitarian institution ever to arise in the United States. Its operatives in the family courts and the social service agencies recognize no private sphere of life. "The power of family court judges is almost unlimited," according to Judge Robert Page of the New Jersey family court. "Social workers are perceived to have nearly unlimited power," a San Diego Grand Jury concludes. "Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Total immunity [enjoyed by social workers] is absolute power."
The divorce regime is responsible for much more than "ugly divorces," "nasty custody battles," and other clichés. It is the most serious perpetrator of human and constitutional rights violations in America today. Because it strikes the most basic institution of any civilization – the family – the divorce regime is a threat not only to social order but to civil freedom. It is also almost completely unopposed. No political party and no politicians question it. No journalists investigate it in any depth. A few attorneys have spoken out, but they are eventually suspended or disbarred. Some academics have written about it, but they soon stop. No human rights or civil liberties groups challenge it, and some positively support it. Very few "pro-family" lobbies question it. This is because the divorce regime operates through money, political power, and fear."
After doing a little "Twitter-research" ... IHTSBIH may have actually had somewhat decent Saturday numbers. By somewhat decent, I mean $250,000 or so. My weekend prediction for the movie will be about $495,000, for a $4304 theater average. Still not good.
Of course, these Saturday numbers are under the assumption that those that posted on Twitter that they saw the movie is roughly 25% of the total amount who saw it.

Nils' wife comes from money. Her family is worth billions. Yes. billions. He's set for life as is Tucker.
Tucker's dad owns a restaurant chain in Florida. Tucker is a only child and the sole benificiary to the fortune. How do you think an unemployed college student can go to a bar and buy $300 worth of drinks on a Tuesday. Or jump on planes and fly to Vegas on a whim.
Who paid for his $30,000 knee surgery? Homer Simpson? He uses his father's business accounts. Hey, if I had a kid and the money I'd spoil em too.
Tucker really wanted this film success to show his parents that "he was somebody, and that he could make it on his own."
I'm sure his next book will keep him distracted long enough to forget about the botched film and all the failure associated with it.
Sunday morning estimates in:
http://www.boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/?view=&yr=2009&wknd=39&p=.htm
369,000 weekend; PTA 3,075; Private Plane DOA. Failboat launched.
"Hey, if I had a kid and the money I'd spoil em too."
I wouldn't, cause if I did, the kid would end up like Tucker.
They get the money AFTER they've earned it.
Nils' wife is also a lawyer:

And I'm pretty sure this is her parents' company:

So yes, she comes from money.
Huh? The La Macchia group is a small consulting company with fewer than 100 employees and between $1-10 million in revenue per annus (likely on the lower end of that metric). Simply owning a reputable business does not a billionaire of blue blood origins make.

I didn't say billionaire. Somebody else did. I said she comes from money. Her parents probably bank around $300k a year from the business. That generally can be considered "coming from money" as their net worth is probably over $1,000,000 from their business ownership, home equity, etc.
Again, not billionaires. But from an assets standpoint, she comes from money.
Oh, okay. With all the hyperbolic numbers thrown around these days sometimes one forgets that 300k (also the median salary for a mid-career neurosurgeon) is in the upper 5% of American salaried workers.
In other less contentious news Leonard Klady's estimate has IHTSBIH finishing with only 350,000 and a 2900 PTA.
A million is nothing, thanks to inflation. My net worth is over a million, and yet I feel I'm only on the lower fringe of upper-middle class.
Restaurant chain? Thought Daddy Warbucks only had one. Just the same, in this recession the restaurant/hospitality business has been hammered.
9/27/2009 10:15 AM: Indeed. But I don't think $300,000 is too high to assume. I know a restaurant owner in my area who makes about $1 million in annual sales and profits around $200k from it. It probably helps that he only really needs to hire a couple of full-time employees and can staff the rest with college students, though.
"A million is nothing, thanks to inflation. My net worth is over a million, and yet I feel I'm only on the lower fringe of upper-middle class."
True. But it once again is considered "coming from money".
From the RMMB:
"He beat out Michael Moore"
Seriously? 115 theaters vs 4 theaters and you're going to compare?
GTFO.
"IHTSBIH has $369k across 120 theatres. If you adjust for number of theatres then he'd make around 8 mill, good for 4th."
There the RMMB members go with their adjustment logic that numbers would have remained the same if it was on 2000 theaters.
I give up. All is lost with these fuckwads.
Tucker must HATE his fans. They are morons. All of them. Look at the retardation they're spewing!
This thread of box office apologetics won't be complete until Tugger posts and divines a posititve way to spin these abhorrent numbers.
Also, from RMMB:
"But none of this counts for the word of mouth that will spread over the course of the next few weeks and on, so it looks like he'll make a lot more."
Wasn't the tour supposed to create the word of mouth for a great opening weekend? Now it's the opening weekend that creates the word of mouth?
Make up your fucking minds.
Biscuits is online and browsing RMMB. Let's see if he writes anything.
So after Freestyle's fees, theaters' cuts, and investor paybacks (very little) from opening week, Tucker won't have much to expand beyond the 300 expected theaters, if that. So far ... fail.

1. inflation-smation, 1 million dollars is a fuck of a lot more than most people will ever be worth... hell, more than most families will ever be worth.... don't act like Tucker by claiming it doesn't "feel like" much
2. Tucker's dad isn't kosher with his kid... Tucker has been homeless and broke most of his adult life because his dad does not put up with his shit, he doesn't have a free ride
3. Nils met a rich chick with a job on a random message board and all I get every time I make a match.com ad is every schizophrenic within 300 miles... wtf? I'm way better looking than him...

any torrents or flash streams bootlegged for us yet?
"any torrents or flash streams bootlegged for us yet?"
I'm pretty sure the warez community doesn't even give a shit.
tucker is totally backed by daddy.
who else is daddy gonna give the empire too?
All Aboard The Epic Failbus! Priscilla Painton + Richard Kelly +Bob +All
this is truly hilarious.
Richard Kelly has totally shot his career to hell.
with southland tales, and now this...and the upcoming epic fail box starring cameron diaz who was hot over ten years ago... what investor is going to give him a penny?
the interesting thing to watch--will Priscilla Painton, who will be publishing tucker's *beep* finish first get off the bang bus?
or will she try to serve the banker's bottom line and destruction of culture and the family by publishing more epic fail fart art with hijinx such as secretive tapings of anal sex without the girl's consent?
If this had played on 8,000 screens, tugger would have had his $25 million opening weekend. If he had played on 32,000 screens, he would have a $100 million opening weekend and would easily beat the hangover within 4 weeks.
Time to double down, it's fourth and goal, the endgame is in sight, the die has been cast, the rubicon crossed, the fat whore is singing. Fuck you money is just 31,885 screens away!
Bahahahahhahaha...the RMMB currently:
"The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later."
Hahahaha. Uhm ... Tucker damage control? Probably not, but it would be funny.
tugger max message bored:
The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later.
Must be a lot of deleting going on....

mccoy, you don't know what you're talkin about with this one
trust me, tucker's wholly dysfunctional BECAUSE his dad basically disowns him at every turn
that's his deal
you're wrong, here, trust me
he has the entitlement complex of a kept rich kid... but he doesn't have the luxury of a dad who gives a fuck
trust me
Tugger's dad definitely has money. Didn't Tugger attend an expensive private high school?
Ha ha. This has to be one of us from this board. Discussion currently on the RMMB.

why? It's just a numbers game. If it had been super-wide released, maybe some inter-dimensional showings, it could have beat the hangover, as Tucker predicted.

Go look at the highest grossing movie this weekend. (It was posted on the last page.) Then see how many screens it was on. Then you will see why you are so retarded.

What about inter-dimensional showings? Those don't show up in this dimension. This movie probably did $100M this weekend, you are just too stupid to understand, because the distribution and marketing is so revolutionary. Tucker is going to have so much F you money it is sick. Too bad none of it will be in this dimension.

Oh man. That is hilarious.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
oops. sorry about the multi-posts. I was getting error messages and thought they weren't going thru
From RMMB:
"We're all just speculating.
In the two most successful indie examples that come to mind, Juno and Slumdog, their "opening" weekend consisted of about 10 theatres. Similiar to Capitalism.
Look at how Slumdog's per-screen average dropped as it opened in more and more theatres. Pretty huge drop from the opening 10 screen 36K per, to the 500 screen 5K per. But it's not like the movie's momentum was dying. You see the same pattern in other very small openings, the per-screen average's efficacy as a measure of success clearly has a threshold - its meaning is diffused the fewer screens that it applies to. Plus both of those movies only opened in LA and NYC, while IHTSBIH was functionally nationwide.
And you remember that other movie that did an exhaustive 31 city tour before it's large limited opening? Yeah, me neither. If the tour had never happened, and IHTSBIH had opened on 10 screens, it almost certainly would've put up Slumbdog numbers based on how fast those screenings sold out and the overall turnout.
I hope it doesn't go down as a horrible bit of irony that IHTSBIH doesn't trip its expansion triggers because the movie's creators did the most un-assholish thing possible and brought the movie and themselves to their fans before the official opening, and yet their movie was derided in the press and by critics for being about promoting assholism.
That tour was utterly unprecedented. As is this entire approach to both film making and distribution.
Based on their overall take, roughly the same number of people saw IHTSBIH as did Slumdog its first weekend, if the word-of-mouth theory is right there's probably only a limited pool of people who will see an unproven movie in its opening weekend... even though considering all the critial and award buzz, neither Slumdog nor Juno were as unproven or innovative as IHTSBH Hopefully that same pool saw IHTSBIH, and next weekend's overall gross increases.
Past indie films have used "ten" to mean "limited," I'm not sure another indie film has opened in 100+ theaters, and I'm about positive none of them have done a nationwide tour beforehand like this. One of the points of the movie was to change the game, and taking an unprecedented approach like this inherently means that the results will be unpredictable.
Time will tell."
Wow. These people really are stupid. IHTSBIH more innovative than Slumdog and Juno? Right. If IHTSBIH was released on 10 screens like Slumdog, it'd bring in the same amount? Right.
Unfortunately this piece of shit can't prove any of this with evidence, and although he admits he's just speculating, that makes every fucking point moot.
"Tugger's dad definitely has money. Didn't Tugger attend an expensive private high school?"
Yeah and said dad cut him off and fired him from his make-work job at dad's restaurant.
Skol got FYBed already
Tucker Max is only famous because there is a pathetic gang of immature boys and insecure girls who hang on his every word, desperate to gain his favor. And for what? So that they can be used and disrespected by him. I don't know who is more pitiful - the loathsome Tucker Max or the sad mob of vulgar, impressionable youths who have traded self-respect for the chance to be a faceless passenger on the Tucker Max Express.
Maybe I'm too optimistic for my own good, but I'm hopeful that this colossal disappointment will shock this man into reality. It's terrible to see a grown man behaving like the stereotypical high school jock who treats everyone around him like dog poo. Any power and popularity he has will be gone when his fan base finally sees him for the misogynist, egocentric bully he really is, and then he'll only have himself. Hilarity will not ensue.
"Unfortunately this piece of shit can't prove any of this with evidence, and although he admits he's just speculating, that makes every fucking point moot."
That was one of the funniest posts I've ever read. Slumdog was out for EIGHTEEN WEEKS before it dropped below 3k per theater! And this moron believes that if only they didn't have that premiere tour, Tucker's movie would've matched that?
It's hilarious and tragic.
Now they're saying these numbers are meaningless cuz we have to wait for the Chicago market since that's their test market.
Should've said these numbers are meaningless cuz we have to wait to confirm the Chicago numbers are even lower than the national average. Wouldn't surprise me if that's true since that market is probably over saturated.
Wow. The TMMB mods are banning and deleting with wreckless abandon. If ever there was a sign that Tucker is done...
I don't find it surprising that they ban trolls and posts that are obviously meant to piss off Tucker.
"I don't find it surprising that they ban trolls and posts that are obviously meant to piss off Tucker."
I'm not referring to those. I'm referring to posts that seemed pretty neutral to me. Anything even slightly negative is being erased.
Oh, Ryan holiday is active. Let's see if he writes anything about the box office results. I wonder what he thinks about Biscuits' predictions now?
From RMMB:
"I'm just some random idiot on the internet, but even I don't think Tucker expected a huge opening weekend."
Funny. I'm pretty sure that Tucker said this movie was going to be huge. Especially a great opening.
I want to know what their underlying assumptions are. The trailer sucks. The reviews suck. The ads suck, mostly. There's not lots of word of mouth going on on Twitter. Then again, I don't know how large percetange of the frat boys are found on Twitter.
Some people do seem to enjoy the movie, but with the amount of negative publicity, I don't see how they will be able to convince their friends to go and watch the movie.
RMMB mods are very busy. Deleting tons of posts.
Tucker made a movie that went national. You guyz didn't, Game over.
"Tucker had butthex and made a movie that went national and lost tens of millions for richard kelly. You guyz didn't, Game over." --richard kelly
The tugger mods are going to be wear out their delete keys, saar.
I gotta wonder... at what point did tugger realize this movie was a turd? When I read the early draft of the script, I knew it was an abomination. That's the script that tugger called "pure comedy gold" and was shopping around. The finished rewrite was much better, but it still sucked. Jesse Bradford and Matt Whocskry? were horrible casting choices. The filming/editing looks and feels like it was made for tv. I know tugger is into himself and biased, but still... he had to realize it at some point.
Congratulations on getting darko to finance a 30-city booty call tour, though.
Lessons to be learned:
Surrounding yourself with fanboys who convince you your potty stories are great art is a bad idea.
Laughing off a $2M offer so you can keep creative control of your art which leaves you $12M in the hole is a bad idea.
Swearing your stories are 100% true rather than stating plainly that you use creative embellishment is a bad idea.
Calling a powerful Hollywood executive a "cunt" is a bad idea since Hollywood is really a small town.
Thinking you're smarter than everyone who has ever made a movie and marketed it before you is a bad idea.
Dropping out of college to follow a self-proclaimed asshole to hollywood is a bad idea.
Dropping out of law school to follow a self-proclaimed asshole to hollywood is a bad idea.
Living life by your own rules and having no concern for the consequences of your actions leaves you alone and broke.
The absolute failure of this movie has given me hope for the future of America.
Kind of reminds me of Hillary Clinton...
Remember when she was running for President? The primary was just a formality, she said. She surrounded herself with loyal, but incompetent people. They tried to convince the press that her nomination was inevitable, even as it was becoming clear that it wasn't. They had polls and focus groups that told them what they wanted to hear! And even when it was over, she continued her self-financed vanity tour, because she wanted to give her fans the opportunity to vote for her.
^^^^ tucker is exactly like a woman.
and all his little, whiney fans are like women.

Oh my god. These people still believe that the tour was solely for the fans.
"Laughing off a $2M offer "
Yeah, I'm not sure that ever happened.
The conversation between mccoy and fake mccoy is hilarious:

Holy shit. It's Tucker's birthday today?
Wow. Karma may in fact exist after all.
It's Tucker's birthday today.
His Redskins lost to a team that went 0-16 last year.
His movie pretty much tanked.
Box Office Mojo has the weekend Estimates
IHTSBIH - $369,000 - 120 theaters - $3075 per theater
http://www.boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/
yes, we know. things are awfully quiet right now. no tweets in 24 hours from his crew. the message board is dead. they must come up with something, quick.
maybe they'll fake tucker's death.
("Best-selling author shot by feminist" OR "Best-selling author offs himself after abysmal box office numbers") Two weeks after: "HAHA, just kidding".
Quiet? What the fuck are you talking about? It's loud as hell in the rudius offices, as Tando, Boozy, Holiday and I furiously delete posts and ban users. Also, we can occasionally hear Tucker's sobs, which is slightly awkward. Not to mention Nils drowning his sorrow with the help of two double-stuffed-crust pizzas, while his wife grinds her teeth. Oh, and some homeless jackass bunny picked up keeps yelling shit like "Suck my shit-covered cock you psycho cum dumpster!". Oops, gotta run, my turn to fuck the bunny.
Nils is alive! "Red Ivy tonight in Wrigleyville w/@Tuckermax around 8. Bring your ticket stub to I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell and we'll buy your 1st drink" - twitter
haha they locked the only thread where there was discussion of the numbers that hadn't been deleted
